On 22nd April 2000 all Northen Ireland Telephone & Fax Numbers Changed

This was part of a large initiative by the UK to make way for the increase in telecom usage. The new STD code for NI is now (028). These changes may cause several implications for business who's databases are running on the old codes, as they can cause telecommunication equipment to fail, resulting in calls being lost or misrouted.
