The IDS Media Group in Sandyford, has just launched a new business directory of the largest 5000 businesses in Ireland. The directory contains contact information and company details of the Republic of Ireland’s largest 5000 companies, organisations and government bodies

Apart from all the company details, the 275 Page directory also provides the names and job tiles of over 14,000 senior functional managers and directors in each company. The directory also contains the web site and email address of each company.

The directory is sorted on business sector. Entry into the directory was based on selecting Ireland’s top employers (based on staff numbers employed) in each business sector. The information was creamed off the top of the Irish Business Masterfile, a comprehensive marketing database of over 300,000 businesses and organisations on the Island of Ireland as well as over 80,000 Irish professionals. The information was then telephone verified during the last 3 weeks of November, using IDS’s 60 Seat Telemarketing Contact Centre. This database holds every type of business from Manufacturers, Retailers, Distributors, Services, Importers/Exporters.

As well as a sectorial and geographical market profile of the Republic of Ireland Market, the directory also provides a 23 page alphabetical index.

Each business entry in the directory contains the following information;

• The name of the most senior manager or director in the company and their job title
• The names and job title of the manager/director responsible for finance, sales, personnel, production and IT
• The company phone, fax, company e-mail and web address (where available)

The number of staff employed within the organisation

• The business activity of the company with their corresponding Classification code (SIC)
